Patient with Infertility Delivers Healthy Baby Girl

Overview & Main Symptoms

A 35-year-old woman had been married for two years without using contraception but had not become pregnant. She experienced significant work-related stress and frequent fatigue. She hoped to improve her condition and aid conception through Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Main symptoms: fatigue, anxiety, pollen/pet allergies, light menstrual flow, and frequent lower back pain. Western medical examinations showed no abnormalities.

TCM Diagnosis

Lung Qi deficiency, Kidney Yin deficiency, and Blood deficiency.

Treatment Plan

Acupuncture once or twice weekly, plus Chinese herbal formulas such as Dang Gui Bu Xue Tang, Er Zhi Wan, and Tao Hong Si Wu Tang.

Outcome

After six months of conditioning and herbal treatment, allergy symptoms markedly improved, energy increased, and complexion became rosy. She naturally conceived and delivered a healthy full-term baby girl.

IVF Supportive Therapy through TCM Leads to Birth of Twins

Male Partner

A 40-year-old computer engineer with lower back pain and fatigue had poor sperm quality, preventing retrieval of normal sperm for IVF. TCM diagnosis: Kidney deficiency. Treatment focused on acupuncture and kidney-tonifying formulas (e.g., Wuzi Yanzong Wan with Gui Fu Di Huang Wan). After one month, nine sperm samples meeting quality standards were retrieved by the reproductive center.

Female Partner

A 38-year-old woman with anxiety and insomnia had no significant Western findings. TCM diagnosis: Liver Qi stagnation. To improve IVF success, acupuncture was recommended. After three months, she underwent embryo transfer and successfully conceived twins.

Endometriosis and Hypothyroidism Patient Recovers to Normal with TCM Treatment

History & Western Diagnosis

A 32-year-old woman had dysmenorrhea since menarche. With work fatigue and stress, she often felt cold and easily tired. At age 30, pain worsened to severe chest and abdominal pain during menses, preventing work or activity and requiring bed rest. Western evaluation diagnosed endometriosis and hypothyroidism; surgery was suggested.

TCM Diagnosis & Treatment

TCM pattern: Qi deficiency, blood stasis, and Kidney Yang deficiency. She chose TCM first: weekly acupuncture plus herbal medicine.

Outcome

Physical strength improved and menstrual pain gradually diminished. After 10 months, pain resolved completely and thyroid function returned to normal.

Significant Improvement in Lower Back Pain and Sciatica

Overview

A 60-year-old male with lumbar injury–related back pain required painkillers for a year and had tried physical therapy and chiropractic care without improvement. He could not bend over and had posterior left-leg pain. MRI: L4/L5 disc herniation. He was referred to our clinic by a Western physician.

Treatment & Course

First session included cupping to relax muscles followed by our clinic’s specialized low-back acupuncture technique. He immediately could bend, with ~60% pain relief. He continued weekly acupuncture for six sessions, achieving significant improvement and free lumbar mobility; physical therapy was advised to consolidate gains.

Discussion

Our specialized method for low-back pain, passed down through thirteen generations of TCM practice, has proven effective for many patients with lumbar injuries and pain.

Patient with Cervical Spine Injury Makes a Good Recovery

Overview

A 40-year-old patient injured her cervical spine during a yoga headstand. MRI showed C3/C4 disc herniation and spinal stenosis. She could not turn her neck, had to face forward, and experienced headaches, neck pain, and arm numbness. Pain and weakness limited work and childcare, causing anxiety and concern about surgery and rehabilitation.

Treatment & Outcome

We recommended acupuncture twice weekly plus daily physical therapy. She adhered well to the plan and ultimately did not require surgery; after six months, she fully recovered and returned to work with a good prognosis.

Discussion

Acupuncture for cervical spondylosis can be highly effective. Many first-time acupuncture patients have reported substantial benefit, including those referred by Western family physicians.

Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)

Overview

A 55-year-old patient engaged in long-term computer work gradually developed bilateral shoulder heaviness and soreness. Over three months, pain worsened and the patient could neither raise arms nor move them backward, making dressing difficult.

Treatment & Outcome

Following evaluation, acupuncture once weekly was recommended, combined with cupping and electroacupuncture. By the third treatment, pain had improved significantly and range of motion increased. After ten sessions, symptoms fully resolved.

Discussion

Acupuncture for frozen shoulder is typically fast-acting with no medication side effects, making it a valuable clinical option.
